Dr. Alexa Moccia earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Moccia earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Boston University, where she also graduated magna cum laude.
After earning her dental degree, she continued her education at Bay Pines VA Hospital. As a resident, she received extensive training in crown and bridge prosthetics, dentures, restorative and periodontal therapies. At Bay Pines she earned her AEGD certificate and was awarded the Sunshine Award for “dedication to safety, kindness, professionalism, and organizational excellence.” Her current clinical experience includes advanced experience in dentures and she is certified in Invisalign.
Dr. Moccia was raised in Andover, MA, a suburb north of Boston. After graduation from dental school she was eager to explore a new city and quickly fell in love with St. Petersburg. She now resides in downtown St. Pete with her fiancé and their dog, Bear. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and strives to practice both ethically and conservatively.
Her vision is to provide the highest quality, comprehensive dental care in her community, with an emphasis on making every patient feel heard, cared for, and treated like family. She will always take the time to listen to patient concerns and find the best, personalized treatment for each patient.
In her free time, Dr. Moccia enjoys being outdoors, exploring her beautiful city and spending time with her loved ones. Her favorite hobbies are teaching cycling classes, running with Bear, reading a good book on the beach, and trying all of the new, amazing restaurants St. Pete has to offer.
