Implant Overdentures

An overdenture is a denture that snaps into one or more implants. The overdenture is still removable, but provides for stability and retention, so the denture doesn’t need adhesive and does not move around or fall out.

Implant Crowns & Bridges

A dental implant is a prosthesis made of either titanium or titanium alloy that is placed in the jawbone. The jawbone then grows bone around the implant and bonds to the implant surface, essentially making it part of the body. This process is called osseointegration and allows the implant to function like a natural tooth. The implant is the interface between the bone and the dental prosthesis - the abutment and crown/bridge/denture. It acts as the “anchor.” Once osseointegration has taken place, the implant can be restored.

A dental implant crown is the final step of the implant process. The crown sits on top of the abutment, or connecting piece, between the implant and crown. The abutment is held in place by a screw, and the crown is either cemented or screwed in place on top of the abutment. Once the crown is in place, it acts and feels like a normal tooth. Contact our office if you already have an implant or are receiving one but need an implant crown or implant bridge.
