Complete Exams

A comprehensive exam includes a complete series of x-rays (FMX), any corresponding intra-oral photographs, a thorough evaluation of your oral history and current health of your mough, teeth, gums and TMJ. During this first, comprehensive exam, Dr. Moccia is able to collect all relevant dental information to diagnose any disease and set you up for the specific ongoing care that you need to maintain optimal oral health.

Extractions

A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the dental alveolus in the alveolar bone. Extractions are commonly needed when a tooth becomes unrestorable due to decay, periodontal disease, or trauma.

Dentures, Partials & Bridges

A complete denture is the removable, artificial replacement of either your entire upper arch (maxillary denture) or lower arch (mandibular denture). They are custom made over the course of several appointments to fit your mouth specifically. They are made to your aesthetic liking and are meant to provide both function (chewing) and form (facial profile, smile).

A partial denture is the removable, artificial replacement of several missing teeth in an arch. This provides for function and prevents the other teeth in the arch from moving or drifting. It also enhances aesthetics, by providing the patient with a full set of teeth visually to complete their smile.

A bridge is a fixed (non-removable) dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth. It utilizes a tooth, or anchor, on either side of the missing tooth to replace the missing tooth in the middle with a “pontic,” or fake tooth. Unlike a denture, a bridge is glued into the mouth.
